Kids in the Capital Holiday Party: Painting at 4Cats **FULL**

'Tis the season for giving. In that spirit, the fabulous childrens' art studio 4Cats is hosting our first ever Kids in the Capital holiday party. Located in Hintonburg, 4Cats offers art classes, workshops and parties for kids of all ages. 4Cats gives kids the chance to learn about great artists and create their own great art. What isn't there to love about that.

We are thrilled to welcome 4Cats as a new Kids in the Capital sponsor and even more excited that Emaly is giving us the chance to invite some of your kids to a  paint splatter party!

Here are the party details: 4 Cats Holiday Party December 12th from 3:30-5:15pm 1107 Wellington Street

We are excited to invite twelve kids aged four and up and their parents to join us. If you would like your child to attend, please leave a comment with the number and ages of your kid(s).  The first twelve kids will be coming to the party. If you would like to be added to a waiting list in case anyone cancels, leave a comment too!

The kids will be creating, but we parents will be busy too. Busy socializing and eating snacks! So everyone will be having a good time.

Halloween meetup at Boston Pizza

It's almost Halloween! We want to see your wee goblins, ghosts and pumpkins all dressed up.  So on Halloween day, before the big trick or treating outing, come and join us for a meet up at Boston Pizza in Orleans.  We'll have lunch (please let us know if you're planning to attend so we can make sure to reserve a big enough space and get the tables into big groups) and 10% of all sales will be donated to the Snowsuit Fund!

When: October 31 Time: 11am - 1pm Where: Boston Pizza, Orleans,  3884 Innes Road

Julie from Inspired Photography will be there taking photos of all your kids in their costumes in front of a Fall/Halloween backdrop.  Prints will be available for sale for $5/each with $1/each going to the Snowsuit Fund.

We'll also be doing draws for prizes for all the kids who come dressed up, including a $25 gift certificate from Boston Pizza, snack bags from Spoiled Sugar, some Discovery Toys, and anything else we can wrangle up before then!

October Moms Meetup

The meetup has been postponed to Tuesday, November 9th! We hope to see you then! We have had some great family meetups lately, but it has been much too long since we have had a moms only meetup! We figured it was definitely time to change that.

Given the busyness of Fall we wanted to plan a meetup that would help us all relax. And nothing says relaxation like a trip to Le Nordik!

So write this in your calendars: A Kids in the Capital meetup at Le Nordik on October 14th. POSTPONED UNTIL EARLY NOVEMBER. We will plan to meet in the lobby around 7:30 pm. Don't worry if you are late. Just wander around and look for some very relaxed looking moms. That will be us.

Nervous about coming because you won't know anyone? Don't be! We are all very friendly. We promise a great time with Kids in the Capital bloggers and readers.

Kids in the Capital meetup at MacKenzie King Estate

What says Fall in the Capital like heading up into the Gatineau Hills to admire the Fall foliage? nothing! ;) Given my successful outing to MacKenzie King Estate a few weeks ago, I know there is lots to do for kids, climbing around on the "ruins" and exploring the forest paths. Come join us for a fall meetup just as Fall Rhapsody begins.

Where: MacKenzie King Estate (expect it to take about 20 minutes from downtown to get there)

When: October 2, 10am

What: We'll explore the ruins, maybe go for a walk in the woods, and have a picnic lunch on the grounds.

Kids in the Capital meetup at Cannamore Orchard

It's apple season! The trees are heavy with apples ripe for the picking so we thought we would combine a Kids in the Capital meetup with a trip to a local apple orchard. We will pick apples, hang out and watch the kids play. A perfect Fall morning! We hope you can join us at Cannamore Orchard on Sunday, September 5th at 10am.
